More sledding fun

Thursday, Feb. 27th ride from Opax north of Highway 24. Logging in this area will be starting soon so that means plowed roads.
8 riders took advantage of the snow. When we started out from Opax, it was like a freeway. So many other riders had been in before us. Lucky for us, we still have some secret trails to areas no other sledders had been into. Another reason to join the club.

Getting off the sledding freeway and into the snow

Weatherman was wrong about the sun but more snow is always welcome

Terrain for everyone - lakes, unplowed roads and logging slashes

What a fun day! Looks like March might cooperate for us sledders after all.

Riding off the Xmas Calories

Fantastic to get out of the house after all the holiday cooking and eating. Not to mention the eggnog with the added spice.

This beautiful sunrise would make anyone want to jump out of bed.

Wow - no filter required

The wildlife scenery is just like living in a Christmas card

Mother nature keeping us entertained on the drive
6 Doos, 2 Yamahas and 2 Polaris sleds with riders met at Opax and set off riding to the south. Stopped for a bit of lake play and chatting and then crossed over the highway to the north side where the snow was better.

Lake stop always includes social time

The sleds seem to be getting bigger!
OOPsy

Not quite enough snow to carve - it settled since last time we played on it

Tee"Pee" Lake is well named - WET

Monitoring the weather for our next ride. Hoping to see our new members come out for some fun. It's always great to ride with a group. We all help each other and everyone gets to where we're going.

Yahoo - Riding Again

Yaaay - the snow dance worked.
Bluebird day with good powder on Sunday.

Great day at Opax despite the deep freeze at Lone Butte

We weren't the only ones out there making tracks in the snow

There was a Cub Road too but no bears yet

Still more rides to come.

Opax area

Saturday's ride. Temps of -29C north of town and -19C at Opax. Still a cold start.
The forecast for warmer afternoon weather inspired 10 riders to come out and play before the next polar vortex.

Parking lot drama - actually no mishaps yet

Love all the bright colours.
In the past, everyone wore black with black sleds and you could end up riding with the wrong group.

Polaris turns on a dime

More great snow to track out
