8200 Road

Met at the junction of 8000 & 8200 Road. Haven't rode out here in ages due to logging.
To our surprise, the road was unplowed right from the junction. Bonus.
We started out with 10 riders - 1 rider on a brand new Polaris!!!

Another beautiful day - 10 riders getting ready to go

Blue sled, blue sky, sparkling snow

If you look close, you will see a commotion on the hill. Some events are better left in the distance.

May as well enjoy the beautiful views while waiting for the guys to deal with the "event" on the hill

Sled repair completed. No injuries to rider. Unfortunately, the end of the riding day for 2 riders.

Pristine when the snow covers the logging debris

Checking out the route - down to 8 riders!!

More views.
Surprising how great the snow was. A really good day for most of us.

Wavey North

So awesome to be getting snow!
A big welcome to the new riders that came out on Sunday's ride. You know who you are - hard to recognize people under all that gear :)

Sunday, a dozen riders met at Wavey in search of snow. The first 8 km of Wavey is plowed but found some good snow after that.

First time into Cow Camp this season

Earned our lunch on this ride. Lots of trees to cut and a few stucks.
Lunch on Hunka Lake.

Just a "hunk a hunk" of stuck sled on Hunka
Didn't make it to our destination. Going back to do a bit of trail clearing this week.
Until next ride...

Riding off the Xmas Calories

Fantastic to get out of the house after all the holiday cooking and eating. Not to mention the eggnog with the added spice.

This beautiful sunrise would make anyone want to jump out of bed.

Wow - no filter required

The wildlife scenery is just like living in a Christmas card

Mother nature keeping us entertained on the drive
6 Doos, 2 Yamahas and 2 Polaris sleds with riders met at Opax and set off riding to the south. Stopped for a bit of lake play and chatting and then crossed over the highway to the north side where the snow was better.

Lake stop always includes social time

The sleds seem to be getting bigger!
OOPsy

Not quite enough snow to carve - it settled since last time we played on it

Tee"Pee" Lake is well named - WET

Monitoring the weather for our next ride. Hoping to see our new members come out for some fun. It's always great to ride with a group. We all help each other and everyone gets to where we're going.

Bridge Lake North

Hey y'all, did you see the full blood moon eclipse the other night. At 8 am yesterday morning, that beautiful big moon was just going to bed.

Only 4 riders turned up for potentially clearing trails. Guess what, the saws were not needed.
It's a good thing that sleds have skis - they were needed :)

The Club's Skandic is also a boat

Lunch in the sun again ...sigh, beautiful but fresh snow would be better

One of our new club members led us around from Bridge Lake to English Lake and up onto Windy South Road. From there - the Windy/English Road - a beautiful view up top. Reiterate, more snow needed for play. Richard showed the sweep his new ditch riding capabilities - actually pretty impressive.

Only major stuck of the day was a pickup truck going up the Windy Mountain Road. Got stuck in a snowbank. Lots of digging and a pull from the Skandic and we had them on their way.

The sweep's road name in the background excluding the North.

Supposed to snow tonight, well at least all around us. Maybe it will land where it's needed.

Weekend Ride to the "Taj"

A chilly start but can't complain when it's a bluebird day.
Hadn't been to the "Taj Mahal" in years due to logging activity so we were overdue. Hoping we could still find our way in.

Most snow in years

Like water skiing, difficult to stay dry

Doo-lightful snow

Crushing snowflakes

Grasshopper, is that you in the snow swirl?

Looks like the trail in...

"THIS is the Taj Mahal" - not exactly up to expectations!!!

Saving gas - oh, not necessary, it's an e-tec

Waiting for the "trail boss"

Minor delay on the hill
Now that the trail is set, we're hoping to get back in there again this season ....if logging roads aren't plowed. Seized the opportunity. Long day but the trail boss was happy :)

Windy Mountain NOT

WOW to the riding conditions lately. Sunny days and lots of new snow. Even when we go to the same riding area a 2nd time, you would never know that we have been there.
Same goes for Windy Mountain. Doesn't seem to matter how many trees we cut off the trail, they keep reappearing.
Postcard perfect day

Gals get to ride at the back for this ride (since we're not getting stuck!!)

Guys at the front - doing the hard work

When we see all the gear beside the trail, we know not to proceed. Can't be good!!

Had it with Windy Mountain - more great areas await.

Enough riding at the back - bring on some challenges

Guys hanging out while the gals play

Our Sweep waiting for the stragglers

She'll be coming around the mountain...
If you are planning to ride up Windy Mountain, do not take "the face trail" unless you are a very experienced rider. With the steep slope, large amounts of snow and side hilling required, you could easily find yourself in danger. And not much room for turning around.

The rides this season just keep getting better :) Windy Mountain - you win (for now)...we will get to the top before the riding season is over.

Plan A, Plan B, No plan

Woke up expecting the ride to be cancelled due to cold temperatures. Our Prez used reverse psychology and sent us an email saying "cancel if you want" but it's supposed to warm up to -8 in the afternoon.

Hopeful that the weather forecasters are right.
We had plans to ride into the "Taj"but the Thuya Lake Road had been plowed. Okay, off we go to Blowdown Road - plowed too. Those *%#@* loggers took our snow away from that one too!!
Let's just go and find some snow.

Found lots of snow, logging roads and slashes to play in.

Enough snow to ride right over most anything

Family fun

We got in, we have to get out.

Fashionable rider - all coordinated.
Glad our enthusiastic president convinced us that we couldn't pass up on this day. Everyone had a great time and made good use of the extra daylight in the evening.

Back road riding

Another reason to join a Snowmobile Club - when you're in another area, you can contact the local club and possibly join them on a ride. That's exactly what a few Prince George club members did. Our club president quickly arranged an impromptu ride.

Saw so many moose on this ride.

Tons of powder. And this is before the BIG Cariboo snowfall.

No bottom.

Bottom of a DOO.

End of the day - only person missing is the photographer :)
