Heger Mountain

Weekend ride from Wavey to Heger.
11 riders. Good snow, clearing skies, a recipe for a pretty good day.

Start of another good ride

Heading in

Working up an appetite

The Prez seeking adventure

One of the "new guys" enjoying the powder

Discovered the powder bowl

Thanks mother nature for the new snow - sure was needed.

Not windy on Windy

After a few years of trying to make it to the top of Windy Mountain, the club finally made it. (insert cheering and clapping here)
Whenever we tried to go up, we spent hours cutting downed trees on the trail instead. We were close a few times but no reward for all the work
OR it would be a sunny day so we would choose to ride elsewhere.

Now that the trail is finally clear, let's hope it stays that way for  awhile.

This is the TOP

Bonus - no wind

Through the trees...

The weather station (not a ladder to get higher)

Lake break

No longer "the new rider"

First to track it up :)

D(andy) day
For those who have been waiting to get up Windy, go now before more trees come down.

Weekend Rides

When you haven't been out riding in 2 weeks due to the polar vortex, you have to go for it when the weather lets up.
2 days in a row of riding for those who had capable bodies :)  (Not the blog editor)
Saturday - the Taj loop.  Did the loop in reverse from the previous ride.

Some challenges as a result of the reverse order but nothing the Club couldn't overcome. Made it in - the proof is in the pudding - or the picture above.

Low visibility but still good to get out after 2 weeks of cabin fever

Thuya Lake on the way back to the parking lot
Sunday's ride was out to Big Tim.

Swamp riding - this is where the Doo bucked off the rider. A little disabled but still smiling and ready for more riding.

Awesome view

The recovery team coming back. Isn't this a fantastic photo!

Snow covered trees - so beautiful

End of the day - playing in the logging slash
Our area has been discovered. Should never have blogged about it - haha. Tracked out and wind blown up top.

Sunday, February 3

Opax to Opax

1st day and 1st ride of February.
4 riders - 4 lakes (maybe not, but sounded good)

1st stop - 1st lake - Dragon Lake

We weren't lost on this ride even though there was no sign of Deer Lake

Lunch on Monticola Lake - 2nd lake if you're counting

TeePee trail

TeePee Lake

Found some roads with good snow and no other tracks.
Planned to get out again on Saturday but the polar vortex beat us.
Get your indoor chores done this week. More riding awaits.
