The road from Little Fort to Clearwater was a slow drive. Rough - like driving in Saskatchewan :)
Snow piled up everywhere, trees and lines downed by heavy snow. Apparently one of their biggest single snowfalls in 30 years.
Somebody has to be first to make a trail to the outhouse |
Ski hill was closed due to power outage so we had the whole parking lot to ourselves |
1st 5 km in were slow |
Logging was not how we envisioned spending our day |
Logging or stuck sled - lots of both :) |
Sun trying to make an appearance |
Creating a detour |
New Year's day goal accomplished - made it to the cabin |
New Year's lunch by candlelight |
Fog moved in while we were in the cabin - is that why it's called "Foghorn" |
Blog Editor finds a deep hole. That little red shovel made a few appearances on this ride. |
Letting loose |
The sweep having a sleep under his sled :) |
The "trencher" - that sled can cut through the deep Probably more rider skill than the sled |
Definitely would have jumped that bank with an 850 |
Sun breaking out again |
Sticking together for awhile - all tired out |
Black sled trying to become a white one (again) |
The drive home was another adventure. Half the drive was good - lots of bare pavement until Mother Nature rushed in giving us another snow storm. Sure glad to follow the leader on the highway - needed those lights and tracks ahead to know we were even on the highway. Thanks Marcel for leading again.
Hurray to all the snow - should be lots of choices for riding areas now.
Last note: if you're not riding because you don't want to get stuck and hold everyone up, the only way to improve your riding skills is to get out and ride. We are a fun group. Come on out and join us - put your skis first, skills will follow!!
